Compost windrow - blending

Take
household waste as an example: 50% is potentially recyclable and a further
20% could be composted. However, only 12% of household waste is recycled
or composted, whilst around 78% is landfilled.
Businesses have a comparable opportunity to deal with their waste
in an environmentally friendly fashion. Recycling not only reduces the
volume of waste that goes to landfill, but also uses less energy causing
less pollution, and it reduces the demand of primary materials.
For businesses, the environmental incentive for minimising the amount
of waste sent to landfill is further increased by the burden of landfill
tax. This tax is currently increasing by a little under 10% annually,
and as surveys show that these rises may not be substantially reducing
the waste sent to landfill, more rapid increases in the future cannot
be ruled out.
At Tag Environmental we keep up to date with all new initiatives
to recycle or recover materials. We
will offer you a range of alternative methods of waste disposal
and assess all possibilities for reduction,
reuse and recycling for each waste stream, and thus reduce the
cost of your waste disposal, as well as being beneficial to the
environment.
